Resumen

El alcance de las recientes movilizaciones que han puesto en jaque regímenes gerontocráticos y la participación de la población juvenil en las protestas a través del recurso intensivo del internet exigen una reflexión inmediata. Sin embargo, los articulistas de los diferentes medios de comunicación olvidan que los jóvenes no surgieron para la vida pública en el último año sino que ello es resultado de procesos de mayor duración que remiten a una etapa que se abrió en la década de los sesenta. El objetivo de este artículo es presentar algunas aristas de la noción de juventud para recordar cómo los años sesenta y setenta fueron las décadas de mayor protagonismo social y político de una generación que terminó desencantada con la utopía. Al final se realiza un breve abordaje sobre el uso de las redes sociales y las nuevas formas de comunicación para la organización de la protesta global so pretexto del análisis de la actual situación de los jóvenes en diferentes lugares del mundo.

Abstract

The scope of the recent demonstrations that have jeopardized gerontocratic regimes and the participation of the youth population in the protests through the intensive use of the Internet, require immediate reflection. Nevertheless, the writers forget that young people did not come to public life in the last year but they respond to longer-term processes that refer to a stage that came out in the sixties The aim of this paper is to analyze some edges of the notion of youth in order to remember how the sixties and the seventies were the decades with the greatest social and political participation of a generation that ended up disappointed with the utopia. It ends with a brief approach on the use of the social networks and the new ways of communication in the organization of global protests in different parts of the world.
